This featured stone seems to become increasingly rare as time goes on, and its Nigerian deposit has long since dried up. This exquisite 7.54-carat precision-cut round is hitting on all marks for a fine spessartite garnet. Ten years ago there appeared to be plenty of fine spessartites from Nigeria on the market, but now it seems hard to find a nice one over 5 carats. Many spessartites have popped up out of the Tanzania deposit, but they just don't seem to have the flawless clarity like these, now classic, ones from Nigeria do.
